Honorable Chairperson Madam Sheetal Rana, Honorable Managing Director Mr. Ram Basnent, Respected Administrative Incharge Mr. Niraj Bikram Rana, Respected Principal Mr. Prashant Rajak, MUN Coordinator Mr.Govinda Gautam, Respected Instructional Supervisors, Teachers, my fellow friends in dais panel, fantastic delegates and hardworking IT team, press team members, guests!

Thanks to all of you for being here! I feel myself being over the moon. What a wonderful experience it was! I saw ambassadors and MPs. I saw delegates and representatives. I saw journalists and IT experts. They are all my friends sitting next to me. I had never seen them in the way I saw them in the last two days. How wonderfully you did it! I congratulate you on your outstanding accomplishment!

I hope you all learned a lot from this session of MUN. Standing in front of you as your Secretary-General is an honor to me. It was an exciting responsibility entrusted to me, and I tried my best to serve in it. It was the most incredible honor and most significant opportunity to learn and try out my ideas. Learning to deal with people and overcoming the fear of the stage I had were a considerable part of my life story that I might be sharing with the next generation.

As George Micheal (mikle) said, I feel lucky to be alive today. The pandemic was strangling the world, and still, fear has not subsided. Environmental disasters are numerous. Politically people are divided. We are trapped in the circle created by our own actions. Thus at this time I feel lucky to be alive and take full advantage of it.

This is not the time to go back; instead, we all should move ahead, stacking our experiences. When a stone moves, it gathers something or leaves something. It does not remain the same. Likewise, when water flows, it collects something. It never stays the same. Similarly, life moves, and it changes in every encounter of a person or a thing.

I am sure that you must have changed after undergoing the experience in the MUN session.

I can guess many of you might have been sad that you couldn’t secure any awards. However, it is not the thing that you should be focusing on. If you have seen the change in yourself in the way you think, how you put forward your ideas, and how you negotiate you have made; you have done a fantastic job. This programme was not for finding losers or winners. The purpose of the programme was to make you able to see differently, think differently, and express yourself differently.

During the session, some of you had a hard time speaking and reacting promptly to the questions posed to you. Please, mark my words. Don’t let that define you and hold you back.

You still have many chances that you will be getting in the coming days to prove yourself, so try enhancing your performance further even after MUN ends. That will determine your actual capabilities.

Everyone here is different from one another and has their own way of keeping forward their ideas. In addition, everyone has their perspectives on the issues. Thus, don’t get disappointed over the fact that your points didn’t bring the intended impact as you wished. Instead, try even harder the next time. Be louder so that you will be heard but never quit your ideas.

I, too, have some ups and downs. I was terrified when I kept my honest opinion in my first MUN. So I can feel your plight. At that time, I was utterly lost, unaware of my situation and potential. I couldn’t keep one single opinion in the committee with confidence.

Now that I wonder, what would have happened if I stopped there thinking I couldn’t do it?

So my dear delegates, never get disappointed for not doing as good as you had anticipated. There is always a next time. If this MUN experience was good, it’s beautiful. If not, it was a lesson learned that will help you grow, understand better, and give it your best shot the next time.

Reflecting on the session, I can cherish some of the moments that I could witness. Of course, the LPs were the core of the program. Even though it was their first try and first experience in the MUN, they gave their best and did wonderfully. I was impressed with the presentation of the delegate of Sher Bahadur Deuba, the overall knowledge of the delegate of KP Oli, the creative questions of Gokul Baskota, and the comprehensive research of Anil Kumar Jha and Bina Magar in Lp1.

Similarly, the creative ideas of delegate Pushpa kamal Dahal, the exceptional logic of the delegate of Mahanta Thakur, and the long and innovative ideas of the delegate of Shashank Koirala in LP2, were some of the unforgettable moments in the session.

In the LP3, the mind-blowing logics of the delegate of Bishnu Prashad Poudel and Vijaya Kumar Gachhadar, the impressive questions of the delegate of Mahanta Thakur and Bimal Prasad Shrivastava, and the perfect answers of the delegate of Baburam Bhattarai and Krishna Gopal Shrestha, with funny yet creative ideas of the delegate of Pushpa Kamal Dahal were something that will be hard to keep away from my mind.

Everyone in the national committees did a fantastic job. Do keep it up!

The international committees were filled with enthusiasm. Worthy points and fluency of the delegate of the USA, the vigorous defense of the representative of Qatar, and the wonderfully quoted matters of the Delegate of France in UNEP were something that would come to my ears even after a long journey from here.

Similarly, in WHO, the questions kept by the delegate of Nigeria, the short and sweet points given by the delegate of Italy, the elaborated ideas of the delegate of Brazil, the quick and exciting arguments of the delegate of Argentina, and the immediate response by the delegate Netherlands were something that everyone would long to hear, time and again.

Lastly, in HRC the humorous and logical response of the delegate of Germany, the fluent and logical reply of the delegate of Nepal, the interesting and smart response from the delegate of Palestine, the commitment of the delegate of Syria, and the clarity in the tone of the delegate of Bolivia.

Everyone in the international committees, too, did an excellent job! I thank you all for your outstanding work. I also thank all my colleagues in the dais panel, who work so hard to make it a success. Without the help from the technical team, the virtual session would not have been possible. Thus, my thanks go to all of you who made it possible. Likewise, our words would have gone into thin air, if the press team members did not inscribe them and recorded them. Thank you for your job.

My special thanks go to my respected teacher, who guided and led us up to here. Finally, thanks go to the school management as well as they had managed everything for this. Thank you! With this vote of thanks, I arrive at the conclusion of my speech to have a new departure.

Thank you all. Thank you very much.
