The 9th session of the TESMUN concluded today amidst a grand ceremony held virtually on 13 September 2021.
The session was participated by over 275 people, including delegates, the members in the dais panel, teachers, members of the IT and Press committees, and invitees. In addition, the ceremony chaired by TESMUN-2021 General Secretary Mr. Sarin Kandel witnessed the award distribution and experience sharing.
The first in the line was Ms. Diya Khadka, the chair of Legislative Parliament-I. She shared her own experience of TESMUN, "I was able to come out of my comfort zone. I wanted to answer every question and ask questions to everybody". Then, thanking the delegates, the vice-chair Onyx Prasai and the moderator Rehana Shrestha announced the awards. From the committee, Peter Rajiv Kandel(Sher Bahadur Deuba) was chosen as the best delegate, Shreya Kadayat(KP Oli) and Tejaswi Pant(Gokul Baskota) were the special mentions. Pratigya Rimal(Anil Kumar Jha), Global Shrestha(Ishwar Pokhrel), Salina Gurung(Gagan Kumar Thapa) were the noticeable delegates and the best position paper award went to Prashuv Thapa (Barsaman Pun). The best party profile went to Aananda Thapa Magar (Bina Magar).
Next was the chair of Legislative Parliament-2, Mr. Amaya Acharya. "Debating is a special form of art," he said. He expressed gratitude towards every delegate and thanked them for their hard work. Then came the vice-chair Nicolas Raj Pandey and the moderator Kristina Chaudhary for the awards. Simon Kandel (Pushpa Kamal Dahal) was awarded as the best delegate, and Subhona Khatri (Sher Bahadur Deuba), Sulaxana Thapa (KP Oli), got a special mention. In the committee, Dipsana Rijal (Sashank Koirala), Raunak Rimal (Gagan Thapa), Yojana Adhikari (Mahantha Thakur), Pragyan Devkota (Bina Magar) were awarded the Notable Delegate Awards. As declared, Rajiv Thapa (Gokarna Bista) had made the best position paper, and Diksha Rimal (Krishna Gopal Shrestha) had made the best party profile.
Then, the chair of Legislative Parliament-II, Ms. Shriyukta Aryal showed happiness and excitement, thanking and motivating the delegates. Appreciating all the effort of the delegates, she said, "We are where we are because of you all." Next, vice-chair Swornim Karki and Moderator Manaslu Mahat presented the awards. Prajwal Poudel (Bishnu Prashad Poudel) was chosen as the best delegate of the committee. Likewise, Jeshika Kumal (Bimal Prashad Shrivastab), Om Shrestha (Bijay Kumar Gachhadar) were awarded the special mention Award. And Anushriti Aryal (Krishna Gopal Shrestha), Rushil Bhandari (Mahantha Thakur), Grace Kandel (Pushpa Kamal Dahal), Yujal Tamrakar (Dr.Baburam Bhattarai) were awarded Notable Delegate Title. Prajita Pradhan(Sujata Koirala) had the best position paper, and Liza Sthapit(Bhim B.Rawal) had the best party profile.
The World Health Organization (WHO) chair, Mr. Bishowjeet Bhandari, followed in the queue. He appreciated the work of every delegate. "It is easy to fight the enemy outside but it is hard to fight the devil within," he said. Then, the vice-chair Rishav Dev Tiwari and moderator Roshani Khaniya stepped in for the awards announcement. Aayush Dhakal (Argentina) was the best delegate, Sambriddhi Rajya Laxmi Shah (Nigeria), and Kritik Kapri (Brazil )were handed the Special Mention Award. Likewise, Aayasha Bhattarai (Italy), Dipisha Upadhyaya Luitel (the Netherlands), Aabishkar Aryal (U.S.A), Avinav Dhakal (Indonesia) were given the Notable delegates Awards. At the same time, Aayasha Bhattarai (Italy) had the best position paper, and Uddeshya Raj Adhikari (Ghana) had the best country profile.
Then came the energetic chair of the United Nations Environment Programme UNEP, Mr. Aniket Paudel. He pointed out the nature of delegates and shared his own experience of MUN. Vice-chair Subersha Subedi and moderator Rishav Dev Tiwari announced the awards. In the committee, Manaswi Pant (U.S.A) was the best delegate, Dipankar Nepal (Qatar), and Shrawan Ghale (France) were awarded the Special Mention awards. Likewise, Tenzin Wangdi Gurung (Russia) and Umanga Rana (Germany) were handed the Notable Delegate Award. Prashamsha Adhikari (Philippines) won the best position paper, and Anup Bhatta(North Korea) got the best country profile.
At last, from the dais panel, the Human Rights Council (HRC) chair, Ms. Shrishti Mandal, shared her experience through the TESMUN program. Then, vice-chair Suchim Paudel and moderator Sichu Maharjan announced the awards, Pratik Lama (Germany) was the best delegate, Aayan Subedi (Syria), Aryan Thapa (Palestine) were the recipients of the Special Mention Award. Likewise, Apeksha Pyakurel (Bolivia), Binisha Neupane (Nepal), Samrid Khaniya (Israel), and Sauhard Pandit (China) received the Notable Delegate Awards. Finally, Saksham Adhikari (Myanmar) won the best position paper and the best country profile award from the committee.
Then came the IT head Mr. Rhythm Subedi, who gave a speech acknowledging the joyful moments of the MUN IT committee and announcing the award. The IT team had chosen Abhishek Neupane to be the best video editor, Supreme Pandey as the Best Photographer, Sunav Lama as the Best Designer, and Saugat Khanal as the Best Cartoonist. In addition, Rehan Jung K.C was chosen as the best IT supporter, and Sabin Bhandari was declared the Best Content Uploader.
Similarly, Deputy Chief Editor Prashna Simkhada gave a fantastic speech, acknowledging all the team members' efforts, and presented the awards on behalf of the press team. Shlok Prakash Giri was chosen as the Best Editor, Shrine Thapa, Shikha Adhikari, Shreeji Regmi were declared the Best Reporter Team. In addition, the entire interviewer team Anuska Sharma, Anuska Subedi, Prakhar Thapa, and Biraj Pokhrel, were awarded certificates of acknowledgment for their efforts and hard work.
Next, Mr. Prashant Rajak, the principal of The Excelsior School, gave an excellent speech. He highlighted that success does not come without preparation and how this program can enhance somebody's personality.
All the effort provided by the participants is the reason the virtual TESMUN was successful. They were providing all the participants with memories and gripping them with essential life skills. The first-ever virtual TESMUN came to an end.
