The formal session of HRC started with full energy on August 25, Wednesday at 2:15 pm sharp after the HRC chair Shristi Mandal explained the rules and regulations of MUN (Model United Nations).
The delegate of Germany (Pratik lama) raised the motion for GSL on the topic of challenges faced by the LGBTQ Community. Being the first speaker by default, the delegate of Germany (Pratik Lama) gave an amazing speech on the GSL.
The delegate of Germany said " German government is opposed to any discrimination and violence against the LGBTQ community and it is working to ensure the equality".
Then, the delegates from other nations also made their statements on the matter. The delegate of Russia (Chakshu Devkota) stated that their country believes in equality for everyone and supports a peaceful society.
The delegate of Syria (Aayan Subedi) also stated that Syria will legalize the LGBTQ community soon and provide equal rights to them.
"What are the practices done by the Armenian government? '' The delegate of Bolivia(Apekshya Pyakurel) questioned the delegate of Armenia (Sara Shakya). To which the delegate of Armenia replied, " As I have mentioned the Armenian government has been trying different activities supporting LGBTQ community" but the delegate of Bolivia didn’t seem to be satisfied with the reply.
Dias members were quite satisfied with the performance of the delegates. The delegates of the HRC committee continued to be active during the second half. The HRC committee continued their discussion on the challenges faced by LGBTQ community. The HRC chair gave remarks to delegates and encouraged them to do better in the next session.
